Drinking Game Equipment: Waterproof playing cards

These playing cards are completely waterproof. They can handle any mess that is sure to arise when playing The Pyramid drinking game. Ok, so they are not suited for close up magic tricks. Drinking game equipment: The Piggy Wiggy Timer

The Cutest Timer

This little piggy-wiggy will tell you when the time is up. What can we say? It’s a pig. But it’s also a timer. And it makes a sound. You can’t take pictures with it, or call your friends. You can’t even scroll through Instagram! But as a timer, nothing can beat this beauty.

How to play The Pyramid Drinking Game

The purpose of The Pyramid drinking game is to hand out drinks to each other based on the cards in the pyramid, and based on which cards you have on your own hand.

What makes this game extra spicy, is that bluffing is allowed! This way no one really knows what’s true or false, and depending on how much you trust your friends in game situations (not a lot I reckon), you need to decide whether to take the drink or try to call a bluff.

The layout of the game is pleasingly uncomplicated. Lay cards on the table in a pyramid formation – 6, 5, 4, 3, 2 and 1 card for each row, and hand out four cards to each player. Now the game can begin.

All players get a certain period of time, for example one minute, to memorize their cards. If you are a smart cookie, as I am sure you are, you will remember both the numbers and the placement.

Sounds like an easy job, doesn’t it? Well, after a few (hundred) units of alcohol it certainly is not! (I’m just kidding, please don’t drink that much.)

When the minute is up, you can no longer look at your cards. At this point, it is time to start turning the cards in the pyramid, one by one.

Start with a card in the row with 6 cards. All cards in this row need to be turned before going on to the next row. When you turn a card, the players who have the same number on their own hand each get to give out drinks to any of the others.

And now comes the juice:

Each row represents the numbers of drinks given. Some people play with 1 drink for the bottom row, increasing with one up to 6 drinks on the top row. Others like to double the amount. This is entirely up to you and your friends!

If you don’t have the number, you can STILL give out drinks by bluffing. If someone calls your bluff, you have to drink double. If someone calls a bluff on someone who actually had the number, the player calling it has to drink double.

When a player is forced to show their cards because of a bluff-situation, they get to toss them and receive four new ones.

This game is a really good one, because you are almost guaranteed to make someone else drink, which is the whole point of drinking games!

Although this means you most certainly have to drink as well, it does not really matter because that is what you’re all there for!

And I promise you the atmosphere in the room will be intense, and the awesome feeling of calling someone else’s bluff will stay with you for a long time.
